COMMUNITY REVIEWS

best show submitted by manz on July 1, 2015, 9:34am The Wire is one of the best TV shows of all time. Watch it. Join the masses.

Overrated submitted by ferielp on August 11, 2017, 8:14pm It's a good show, but I went in expecting a lot more since this show is touted as being HBO's best ever.

Hooked submitted by caburr47 on July 28, 2019, 5:14pm The dialogue is so natural, and the topics are still relevant. David Simon created a show that fortunately/unfortunately still resonates as its themes, topics and messages still carry weight today. Binge the entire show. It only gets better and gets more in depth.

The Wire Season 1 submitted by crp on August 5, 2019, 11:09pm If you're looking for an amazing TV show, this is it. Be prepared for sadness and grief.

The Wire Season 1 submitted by jibkidder on August 2, 2022, 8:16am RIP Michael Kenneth Williams. After "Sopranos", I feel like this show as the next big leap for television. I especially appreciate the absence of scored music. I found that I didn't enjoy rewatching it a second time, that it becomes more theatrical and less believable the second time around. I don't necessarily think that matters, I think television is made for a single viewing, but it was interesting how it quickly loses its natural feel once you soak it in.
