Classic Sesame Street submitted by Meginator on July 6, 2011, 9:55pm The best part of this feature? Even though it includes Elmo, it isn't dominated by him! As a Sesame Street alumnus and sports fanatic, I thought this would be a nice blast from the past, and it was. One of the things I enjoy most about the show is its ability to relate to kids from several different eras, and though some of the footage is grainy and the Dominique Dawes(!) reference may be lost on younger kids, I enjoyed watching Bert, Ernie, Grover, and the Count do what they do best (being adorably crotchety, being adorably annoying, being adorable, and counting, respectively). As a special bonus, the subject matter naturally induces kids to want to get outside and play.

Notable omissions: hockey, American football, and Oscar the Grouch.

N.B.: The bonus features, which include three claymation shorts starring Bert and Ernie, are adorable and a nice addition to the DVD. I enjoyed the robot particularly.
