COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Decent Movie submitted by monkk on June 16, 2015, 10:41am I was worried about whether or not I would like this movie, as a big fan of the book. When I initially heard the casting choices, I thought they were all way off. But it turned out pretty decent. Not how I would have done it, sure, but pretty true to the book, and the actors pull it off for the most part (I'm still giving Ben Affleck as Nick Dunn the side-eye though).

Good Movie submitted by jarroyo on June 21, 2015, 10:51pm This was a really good movie. I read the book and couldn't wait to see the movie. I thought they did a great job of following pretty closely to the book. The actors did a great job. My husband didn't want to see this movie. He watched it with me and loved it!

Great mind thriller submitted by LVDS on July 2, 2015, 9:25am interesting twists & turns, well-done!

really bad submitted by dworth on July 2, 2015, 1:30pm I turned it off after 10 minutes. When Affleck used the line "I'm the one who's going to save you from all this" - in complete seriousness - and not only that, but the line actually *worked* and she didn't derisively laugh at him, I knew that I could not possibly be made to care about these ridiculous characters.

ok submitted by leenajong on July 7, 2015, 11:43am ok movie, not as great as the book but Rosamund Pike was great!

Good But OMG submitted by Beth Manuel on July 13, 2015, 1:22pm Good movie. Characters like these two make me wonder about people. I had read the book a couple years ago so I didn't remember how it ended, Which was a good thing or I may not have bothered.Enough time had gone by that I was still surprised at the ending.

Really? submitted by markwells on June 26, 2016, 12:15pm I like the way the movie takes a whole different turn towards the middle. I'm Just not so sure of the plausibility of the story. Kinda fun though. Grade: B+.

Good submitted by kelleyc on August 2, 2016, 6:30am Very enjoyable. So full of twists and turns.

movie submitted by dree411 on August 21, 2016, 3:15pm good movie

Gone girl submitted by yenkong on July 14, 2017, 8:48pm good movie though i like the book better.

I never say this, or okay rarely, but... submitted by lisa on August 14, 2018, 2:23pm ... the book is better.

Gone girl submitted by c_zhang on June 29, 2019, 12:54am The book was better, but the acting was pretty good.

Good submitted by TLW1998 on July 28, 2019, 11:16pm But the book is way better

wild submitted by yufamily on August 13, 2019, 6:07pm a bit over the top

Gone, Girl submitted by crp on August 29, 2019, 2:59pm A movie as unrealistic as it is fascinating to watch. I hated it the first time, and liked it the second. Yes, I watched a movie I hated twice, because she is either crazy or brilliant in the end, and I couldn't decide which one until I watched it a second time.

Gone girl submitted by smr on July 2, 2020, 11:24am Like gone gilr

w submitted by GioMuzique on August 5, 2020, 5:48pm the book was better

Just not as good as the book submitted by kombucha2006 on June 13, 2023, 8:14pm Gone Girl is one of my favorite books of all time, the the visual storytelling aspect of this movie does not disappoint. However, Affleck’s performance as Nick and NPH’s performance of Dezi just did not do justice how gross and horrible these characters are. Pike and Coon are phenomenal in their respective roles though
