small town life in 1961 submitted by kerstinrh on August 20, 2018, 8:40pm A small town in Minnesota grapples with the death of a number of people over the summer of 1961. This story follows the family of the towns Methodist minister and the relationships and heartbreaks that they endure during this summer. Characters were very well developed and the story was one that has stuck with me.

A coming of age story: one tragic summer in a small town submitted by 21621031390949 on August 28, 2022, 10:54pm really enjoyed this book, which tells the story of one tragic summer in a small town through the eyes of a 13-yr-old boy. The author does a good job of creating the atmosphere of this small community in the 50’s and the innocence of the time. I guess you could call it a coming-of-age story as well as a murder mystery, as the young narrator certainly grows through his painful experiences. The author really captured the struggles of the main characters and their attempts to make sense of a random world.

I listened to the recorded book, which was read very well.
