No daft lassie chasing after Hamish in this one, but Dick is behaving rather awful with respect to Hamish and Elspeth. The body count was way too high. Heather's final outcome was unrealistic, as was how she got away from the hospital. I feel like the author is saying "just how far can I push this nonsense?" The Palfer kids showed up way earlier than I expected they would - another sign of the author phoning it in (in my opinion).
I do like the narrator for this series though - I don't know if the accents are realistic, but they are enjoyable to listen to.
