Perfect for emerging readers with illustrations and large font, the captivating plot line will keep the kids' (and adults') interest. This is a blended genre of fantasy and STEM. Zoey thinks like a scientist as she solves the problems that various magical creatures present her. There are trials and errors, disappointments and happy surprises. I highly recommed all of the books in this series.

Science and Magic Together! submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:14pm This delightful chapter book finds the inquisitive Zoey and her faithful feline friend Sassafras turning again to the scientific method when a moldy monster needs help prior to an important event. The book uses the same basic framework as the first, but includes a few more iterations of hypotheses and experiments, illustrating that setbacks and unexpected results can eventually lead to an answer that works. This complexity fits right into a gentle narrative that centers kindness and a willingness to persist, and the book seamlessly fuses its narrative and educational elements. Zoey is an absolute delight, and it’s a pleasure to see her learn and grow as she answers the calls of the many magical creatures to come to her for help.

We love Gorp! submitted by ryank on June 12, 2023, 2:52pm The monster in this story is really fun. We like how the kitty Sassafras likes Gorp but the monster is scared of the cat. It’s a very clever story with fun characters!
