Boys I Love submitted by lcbuday on August 18, 2018, 12:51pm I haven't connected this well emotionally with a male narrator since Monty in "Gentleman's Guide." Tanner is a wonderful character whose struggles definitely ring true. I wasn't sure how I felt about his love interest, Sebastian, at first, but I realized that my hesitations were all knit up in the complexity of his situation, and I grew to adore him too. This novel is simultaneously a sucker punch and a bear hug, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

gorgeous characters, tender story submitted by apknapp on August 16, 2020, 6:34pm I devoured this book in, like, five hours. I've really enjoyed everything I've read by Christina Lauren; this was a bit of a departure from their usual graphic, smexy fare, but I think their best work. Wanted to climb into the book so I could meet these lovely characters in person. Their handling of a young man's heartbreak at watching his Mormon boyfriend's struggles to reconcile his religion and his sexuality is thoughtful, careful, believable, and somehow sympathetic to all parties involved, while clearly woven through with a steel core of LOVE IS NEVER WRONG.
