One of the best books I’ve read this year submitted by idnarbrellim on June 16, 2018, 5:05pm Spoiler Alert: The title doesn’t lie. But honestly this was a fun read that I had a hard time setting down. I read it cover to cover in one night. If you’re looking for a good book with LGBTQ representation, this is the book for you. The ending made me cry, but the rest of the book had me smiling.

LIFE-CHANGING ALERT! YOU SHOULD READ THIS BEFORE YOU DIE! submitted by Mayaboo on February 26, 2020, 4:33pm Dear world,
We love you and care about you, and want the best for you. So many people exist aimlessly from day to day before eventually being cornered by regret at the time that has passed. So many of us need to be reminded that we’re alive for a reason. But it can be so hard to remember; believe us, we know.
Every day, we think of all the things we’ll do tomorrow, pin all our hopes on the days ahead. But in truth, none of us will live forever, and when it’s your time to leave, we don’t want you to have regrets. We don’t know when the end will come, and we don’t know what lies beyond. It’s terrifying, we know. But it’s not something we can escape; we can only take measures to prolong our lives, and it’s too easy to forget: Now is the the time to live. There is no time like this.
And there is nothing like experience to encourage us to become who we want to be. And two brave souls like us, Mateo and Rufus, have shown us the way. Before they died, they lived the lifetime they would miss, and have been compassionate, inspiring friends to all of us. Mateo and Rufus are the protagonists in the book They Both Die at the End. Don’t be deterred by the title. Because even though they die, by telling their story, Adam Silvera has taught us to live.
They Both Die at the End is truly life-changing. It’s incredibly magical and will change your life in amazing and transformative ways. It’ll make you think about life differently. With this thought-provoking and life-enhancing amazingness your life will be improved. It shows us an alternate reality in which Death-Cast knows for certain on which day someone will die, and they have up to twenty-four hours to prepare. It shows how this knowledge would change everything we know, and it shows how much we want to change about ourselves and how many of us are too complacent to do so until our final hours. It shows us how we get sidetracked by things that mean nothing to us, and shows us that we don’t have time for animosity and division, and it shows us how we are united in our humanity. It shows how every day can count, and sometimes that’s all it takes for everything to change.
And when it feels too hard to move forward, to realize what we were meant to be, this book gives us hope and a strong reminder to do what we’ve always dreamed — today.
We wish you the best. We want to you live your best life, free of regrets. And so we encourage you, please, please, read this book before you die.
With love, your fellow human mortals,
Maya and Crysania

Great book submitted by JessicaIJ on July 8, 2021, 12:15pm This was a great book, it has good LGBTQ+ representation and I would recommend it. The ending is a bit sad, however it's not a surprise.

Great Read submitted by rishikabhutani on November 28, 2021, 6:22pm Usually books that take place over one day seem simultaneously rushed and slowed way down, which gets annoying. This one was well-paced and you are able to see how everything connects until the very end. The last chapter leaves you with questions, but it's fair to make your own assumptions about what happens. It also showed the importance of spending time with your loved ones because you never know when it'll be the last time you ever see them again.

Best book ever submitted by Thor on June 11, 2022, 3:21pm If you want to find a book that will make you laugh and cry at the same time then this is the book for you. This is probably my favorite book ever and I hope you like it too. The characters are great and the plot is actually realistic.

10/10 submitted by sophiaszh on July 4, 2022, 3:18pm I love the plot so much. I was hooked throughout the entire story.

Emotionally Jarring submitted by rmccants03 on July 20, 2022, 2:23pm The plot is simple but impactful. There is a diverse pool of characters with lots of representation so that feels incredibly organic. This entire book is like a warm hug. The title warns us but it's still not enough by the end of the book. Beautifully written. 10/10 would recommend!

Obviously you know how it ends but it still gets you submitted by alharman1022 on July 26, 2023, 7:52am It takes a bit to care about the characters but you really do by the end
