The information was very thoughtfully compiled, including information on park hours, admission fees, full park website addresses, and suitability for children. The parks are sorted by location and theme, which made browsing the pages fun and is useful if you are interested in a specific topic, such as bird watching or wild flowers. The photographs are beautiful and highlight each of the destinations. The entries include descriptions of the parks and the author's own experience visiting them. The facts included in each entry are informative. The back pages offer general suggestions of what to pack with you when exploring, and a list for further reading. I recommend this book for anyone who likes to visit Michigan's wilderness preserves and nature centers. I learned more about the places I have already been, and found many new places I can't wait to visit.
