Louna's years working at her mother's wedding planning business--as well as the tragic end of her first love--have shaped her cynical views on romance, but the arrival of serial-dater Ambrose may start to change Louna's mind and give her a second chance at love.

I loved Sarah Dessen's books as a teen, so I was excited to pick this one up as an adult for a fun summer read. And then I remembered why Dessen's books lost their charm for me...they started to follow a predictable formula: girl who is jaded in love is working at some sort of quintessential summer job, girl meets annoying male character who she detests at first but eventually falls in love with. The end.
Her earlier works didn't stick to this predictability quite so rigidly, and I'd be curious to return to those to see if I still like them as much now as I did when I was younger.
Good submitted by zmclaugh on August 1, 2018, 5:11pm A fun, simple romance.
Just Enough Romance submitted by Natmare on June 14, 2019, 1:12pm I love reading Sarah Dessen's books because I know what I'm getting into every time. I truly enjoyed this book because of the flashbacks intertwined through the present day story that help to slowly unfold Louna's story at a slower pace than most stories provide. They make you want to read more so you can learn what happened that has left Louna the way she is compared to who she used to be. I recommend this to anyone who enjoys a good, clean romance and any teen that is looking for a story with just enough drama and romance to take them somewhere else if only for a while.
