Mischievous Humor submitted by Meginator on June 12, 2021, 12:59pm This delightful picture book presumes (probably correctly) that most readers would, like the boy who goes on a little domestic pet adventure here, absolutely love to have a rainbow-burping, cupcake-pooping unicorn friend of their own and proceeds to show why that is perhaps not the best idea. Dyckman’s take on unicorn lore is hilarious and she provides a nice narrative arc with a wonderful kicker at the end that has me hoping for a sequel. Climo’s illustrations are cartoonish and perfectly suited to the script’s sense of humor, bathed in color and bringing the unicorns to mischievous life. This is a must for unicorn fans of any age and would make for a great read-aloud for anyone with a solid sense of humor.
