Homage to the Card Catalog submitted by ken on August 14, 2020, 9:16am As someone who has two card catalogs in his house, I have fond recollections of learning "how to library" using subject, author, and title cards in my hometown library. Working as a page there, I was privileged to be able to add cards to the catalog for new books -- but never to pull the rod and "drop" them into place. This book reminded me of the other tactile pleasure of reading: flipping through the cards to find just the right book on the subject that caught my eye, before I got to hold the physical item itself. This is a beautiful book, filled with pictures of historic works and their catalog cards..
