Another great contemporary from Albertalli! submitted by zixyxuan on June 19, 2017, 12:06pm It's been a long time since I've added another book to my "favorites" list, and this book deserves all the hype. Even though I am not a huge fan of a contemporary young adult genre, I absolutely loved the diverse background of all the characters in the book and Molly's reaction to the drama unfolding in her life.

I would highly recommend this book to anyone looking for fun and quick romantic read.

Overall rating: 5/5 Stars

Maybe Better for Middle Grade Readers? submitted by abigail.crampton on June 20, 2017, 7:26pm I cannot express how little I enjoyed this book. Full of very common, somewhat harmful tropes and flat characters, the plot wasn't even enough to make me enjoy this book. Abertalli includes pretty much every underrepresented group under the sun, and that's great, but she does so in a way that feels forced or as if she's only doing it for bonus points with readers, and that doesn't sit well with me. Aside from brushing against some more mature themes such as sex and sexuality, I think this would better suit a middle grade reader than a young adult reader.

Very Enjoyable submitted by Stinglikeawalrus on July 26, 2019, 11:02pm I loved Simon vs., but I must say I liked this more. Molly was very relatable to me and that was a great thing. It was also great to see a ton of queer main characters who's plotlines weren't about them being queer. While at times it could be a bit cheesy, it was very enjoyable. There's a line early on in the book where Molly says that sometimes she wants to be loved so much that it hurts, and I think that's when I knew I was gonna like this book. Also showed a great sibling relationship. This book would be great for anyone who loves contemporary and just wants a fun read.

Not the best, but not terrible submitted by sbeegees on August 14, 2019, 11:24pm I didn't particularly love this book, though I can see why it may be enjoyable to some. The characters weren't very relatable to me personally.

Romantic Moments submitted by me11yagn on August 26, 2019, 2:32pm This book was very romantic with the many different relationships and moments. Some difficult topics are discussed.

relatable and fun submitted by apknapp on August 5, 2023, 1:39pm Perfectly captures the excitement/terror of a crush and all the awkwardness of teenagerdom.
