Lena Horne submitted by poptart887 on August 11, 2020, 11:36am This book goes into much detail about Lena. How her mother was in show business and wanted Lena to go on tour with her. Her grandmother, however, didn't feel that was a good life for a child. She raised Lena for a while, but Lena's mother came back and took her with her. Lena ended up on stage and having a strong career even with discrimination and type casting threats from Hollywood. It takes a strong lady to be in show business and even stronger to turn down roles based on the part and say "No!" to discrimination.
