Essential! submitted by jehle on June 17, 2017, 10:17am I've been playing Dungeons and Dragons for sixteen years and I've played as Dungeon Master dozens of times. If you have any interest in being a DM for 5th edition I consider this mandatory reading. Read it once through and then it is an extremely useful reference tool. I own this book myself and can't recommend it enough!

5th Edition is pretty good! submitted by timdufresne on July 17, 2018, 4:20pm As someone fairly new to DnD I, actually, really liked the 4th Edition. This 5th Edition took a lot of ideas from 3rd and 4th Editions and made a really great game!

Lots of information submitted by azaitzeff on August 17, 2018, 10:16am This book is dense. It contains a lot of rule variants for your pleasure

Very helpful submitted by lord Thycaust on July 18, 2020, 9:09pm Recently getting into D&D, this book is immensely helpful. Reading it ignited a want to create adventures, nay, a need. Having so much helpful knowledge in one singular tome is brilliant.

Least important but still good submitted by Mairead Seyfarth on June 18, 2022, 12:21pm This is the least important book of the core rules but will still have some useful information for playing the game. I recommend checking this out just to read through and take some notes and prioritize having the Players Handbook and the Monster Manual for each session.
