"Lily Jo McGrother, born Timothy McGrother, is a girl. But being a girl is not so easy when you look like a boy. Especially when you're in the eighth-grade. Norbert Dorfman, nicknamed Dunkin Dorfman, is bipolar and has just moved from the New Jersey town he's called home for the past thirteen years. This would be hard enough, but the fact that he is also hiding from a painful secret makes it even worse. One summer morning, Lily Jo McGrother meets Dunkin Dorfman, and their lives forever change"-- Provided by publisher.

Great book! submitted by traverwood23 on July 7, 2023, 8:05pm Lily and Dunkin is an outstanding book. It portrays two sides to the same story, and they intertwine perfectly. One side is Timothy McGrother, who knows inside that he's is a girl, Lily Jo McGrother. Unfortunately, his (or technically her) dad refuses to get her hormone blockers. The other side is Norman Dorfman, who suffers from bipolar disorder. He has just moved to a new town, and is stuck home alone. Will the story ever be resolved? Read the book to find out!
