Proven methods for doing better at school submitted by zslicks on July 26, 2019, 10:59pm If you've taken the free online course Learning How to Learn by Barbara Oakley then you will find a lot of the material in this book familiar. Oakley takes you through how your brain works and how the best way to learn something new is in chunks and also taking breaks while learning with a technique called Pomodoro in which you take a break every half hour or so during intense study sessions in order to allow your brain time to process what you are learning in the background.

This book and her course helped me quite a bit with my college courses. I'd recommend it for any student, especially older non-traditional students returning to school after being away for a number of years.
