Five Minutes' Peace submitted by SBNB on August 31, 2017, 9:23am While I could relate to this book, it felt weird reading a book to my kids about a mom who wants to get away from her kids.

Maybe teaches the kids some empathy? submitted by FordAlpha on August 13, 2023, 9:12pm I loved reading this book to my kids because not only could I relate exquisitely to the mother elephant's situation, but also my kids saw the struggle -- just a little bit -- through Mrs. Large's eyes, and thus through mine. Don't think that this is all serious and scolding, though: it's very funny, and the mutual affection of mother and children shines through.
