Not for the beginner submitted by audreyh on July 3, 2015, 9:40am Colette is an awesome company that makes great patterns. This book is a great example of their work, walking readers through some of the intermediate and advanced aspects of dressmaking. While this is a great guide, it's not where I would start beginners. The subject material and writing in this book is definitely aimed at readers with at least a basic familiarity with sewing.
yes submitted by manz on July 30, 2018, 3:09pm Colette makes great patterns!
Decent guide, not size-inclusive submitted by wellscai on June 14, 2021, 8:04pm This good is a great guide to sewing dresses and altering patterns to make them work for you. The patterns are a bit outdated nowadays, but I liked the pictorial guides. However, the sizing only goes up to a US 16/18, which limits how useful it will be for people who are larger than that.
