Comprehensive, up-to-date, and open-ended submitted by saffholter1 on December 6, 2023, 8:57am This is a fantastic comprehensive overview of dinosaur science accompanied by many very useful illustrations and diagrams. I found the explanations and supporting diagrams of cladistics especially helpful-- they are presented throughout the entire book with notes about how they differ from previous classification systems. Unlike many texts that can read as very outdated by the claims they make about certain theories involving things like dinosaur biology and behavior, this text remains transparently open-ended by presenting competing theories and stating when ideas are not wholly agreed upon by the broader scientific community. I really appreciated that, especially because the science seems to be changing so rapidly sometimes. Just a great read and should be considered a perennial resource for dinosaur facts!
