Great submitted by ljq on August 4, 2011, 11:32am I really like reading about China and often, the books aren't so accurate or portray Chinese people and Chinese culture wrongly. However, the author of this book did a good job with Ivy's family and their New Year's traditions. Quite a few of the American Girl history books don't contain things about other cultures--Rebecca's series is one of the few that does, and I'm glad that this one is about a culture that's foreign to many Americans.
