Gardening ideas submitted by ssands on June 28, 2015, 3:54pm The first few gardens involve planting directly in a bag of potting soil placed on the ground. By the end of the book more traditional gardens are discussed. These seem to be more do-able than plans in some other gardening books, and they do address useful issues like succession planting even in garden plans that aren't devoted to that topic alone. I intended to do most of the things in one of the garden plans, but the weather and an injury kept me from following it precisely. The book inspired me, but when I did more research, I found that some of the ideas, like low hoop tunnels, might be more complicated than the authors made them out to be.
