Why is everyone (but me) a jerk?
submitted by interstice on July 21, 2017, 1:47pm
Excellent insight into how our unconscious mind, evolved to help us survive in the distant past and a fragile infancy, is responsible for some of the ridiculous things we do today.
Addresses issues like the birth (literally) of bias and racism, mental illness, terrorism, suicide, political manipulation, innumeracy, and why we will raise an army to rescue a puppy buy not lift a finger to stop a genocide.
Engagingly interweaves documented research and stories of real people. Seven years old, but still very relevant today; perhaps even more so than when written.
