A Gentle Environmental Fable submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 4:01pm This picture book follows a young boy who figures out an alternate way to donate his beloved local spruce tree to the Big City for their annual Christmas celebrations. The story works both as a story about a likable character and as a gentle environmentalist fable, with excellent use of color and varied layouts in the illustrations. I didn’t particularly care for the character design, but the strong story and its clever solution make this a great alternative to traditional Christmas stories.
