Truly shows the poisons of everyday life submitted by a2aron on June 27, 2011, 4:21pm This book really uncovers the toxins and poisons we find in every single thing. Everything from mercury to triclosan to 2, 4-D. And, none of the companies want you to know this. 5/5

toxins submitted by drewy234432 on June 16, 2012, 7:20pm Poison is in everything. There now you don't need to read this book.

Motivating and practical submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on August 30, 2016, 9:34pm The information in this book is fantastic. The authors look at some of the most common toxins that we absorb into our (and send into our childrens') bodies, how they get there (flame retardant pajamas, anti-microbial toothbrushes, tuna, plastic sippy cups!), what they do to us (and especially to our young children's developing bodies), and simple things we can do to reduce our exposure.

There was a good mix of validated scientific research, investigative reporting about the companies who make (push) these products, and personal anecdotes about self-experimenting with exposure. It's easy to read, though occasionally dragged just enough that I'd pick up something else to read for a day.

Still, highly motivating, and practical enough not to feel depressing.

Informative submitted by Varshini on August 30, 2019, 9:27pm I didn't know that so many household items were considered toxic. This book was very interesting to me. 4/5
