Best for Those with Vegan Pantries submitted by Meginator on June 11, 2021, 6:13pm As an omnivore looking to incorporate more meatless cooking into my diet, I was hoping to find some simple recipes that I could make with ingredients on hand. Unfortunately, as with a lot of vegan cookbooks, the recipes require a lot of unique ingredients and simply were not practical for us to try (something like almond milk isn’t particularly out there, but brown sugar syrup- presumably a substitute for honey- isn’t something I really want to commit to for the sake of a single cookbook). The front matter will be very useful for newcomers to the vegan lifestyle and the recipes themselves incorporate a lot of different international influences to keep things interesting and varied, but I’m going to have to keep looking for a vegan cookbook that utilizes ingredients I already have on hand and use regularly.
