This time, no nuts submitted by FordAlpha on August 28, 2017, 12:15pm The Pigeon is a proxy for all perpetually petulant toddlers, and I find him rather annoying, but the kids love his antics. This is probably my favorite of the Pigeon books; its resolution is more believable than that of the Duckling's first appearance ("The Pigeon Finds a Hot Dog"), and I'm a cookie lover myself, so I relate to the Pigeon's outrage at an unjust universe that would grant a delicious cookie to one character, but not to another. The book's lesson -- be polite, ask nicely -- is better conveyed and more effective than those of the other Pigeon books.

The Pigeon Wants Noms submitted by Meginator on August 21, 2021, 9:08am As usual, this book follows the Pigeon as he finds himself in a right lather over a seemingly minor inconvenience and eventually figures out that, perhaps, the world isn’t ending after all. The Duckling makes for a great addition to the series as the Pigeon’s opposite: he is sweet and chill on the outside, but is also a sly schemer who knows how to get precisely what he wants. It’s a nice contrast that provides a humorous, if not unexpected, kick to the end of the story and expands the Pigeon’s possibilities for the future.
