Cailou as a Penguin submitted by tmkenn on June 28, 2019, 10:45am This book isn't very positive, probably even encourages whining. Spoiler Alert: a walrus comes to explain to the penguin how wonderful his life is. The penguin doesn't care or notice and continues whining. Not one I'd check out for my kids again.

Penguin Problems submitted by SBNB on July 15, 2019, 5:36pm It's cute and different, but yes, mostly negative and whiny.

Bad book submitted by wookeny on August 6, 2019, 8:17pm This book was not well written and the penguins aren't really active. I would say it is really boring and not adventurous book.

A Penguin's Complaints submitted by Meginator on August 22, 2022, 10:15am This hilarious book follows a penguin who has a litany of complaints about life in the Antarctic, illustrated very literally in a way that adds to the humor of the straightforward text. A major twist near the end plays a neat trick on readers’ expectations just when the book seems to settle into a particular moral lesson. The pictures and character design are fantastic, incorporating a chalkboard design for certain scenes and making full use of the page to draw out the humor in the text. This book should work for all ages, but adults with a certain sense of dry, slightly dark humor will really enjoy this one.

Penguin complains too much submitted by balin on June 30, 2023, 9:29pm Walrus makes good points about being present and enjoying the moment, and you almost think the penguin understands and is ready to be more appreciative only for him to start complaining again.
