"A Holt paperback."
"With over 500,000 readers a month at her enormously popular blog, AwesomelyLuvvie.com, Luvvie Ajayi is a go-to source for smart takes on pop culture. I'm Judging You is her debut book of humorous essays that dissects our cultural obsessions and calls out bad behavior in our increasingly digital, connected lives--from the importance of the newest Shonda Rhimes television drama to serious discussions of race and media representation to what to do about your fool cousin sharing casket pictures from Grandma's wake on Facebook. With a lighthearted, razor sharp wit and a unique perspective, I'm Judging You is the handbook the world needs, doling out the hard truths and a road map for bringing some "act right" into our lives, social media, and popular culture. It is the Do-Better Manual"-- Provided by publisher.

I’m judging you submitted by crp on August 10, 2019, 6:39am After her successful Ted talk, this author has written a memorable dialogue on our culture and society today as Americans. If you are interested in a different perspective, a different view compared to what we normally read, this is for you. And she makes you laugh.
Mostly good, a little heavy on the influencers rants, end with a strong afterword
submitted by nemiller on July 30, 2021, 9:48pm
I generally like these types of self-help books with a bit of humor and a lot of grace. But Ajayi spent about half the book complaining about reality tv and influencers. As someone who is neither a reality tv fan or an aspiring influencer, I just wished there were titles to the chapters so I could know what to skip.
I'm glad I read through to the end, though, because there was a really satisfying rant in the afterword about Trump and the wave of White Supremacy he rode in on.
If you listen to the audiobook like I did, I would urge you to be liberal with the "skip track," and if you read the print version, you may want to skim some of the reality-tv-rants, but overall the book is definitely worth your while.
