Excellent book submitted by Ilyjtwya on June 23, 2012, 1:09pm This was an excellent book. It explains how the ways your mind works influences your life, such as the length of time you stay happy after something good happens, how quickly you recover from set backs, and 4 other things. There is a lot of in depth information about how the author ended up doing this research, the studies involved, and what has been discovered so far. One of the first chapters includes quizzes for you to see where you fall on the six factors of the personality style. The final chapter gives ways you can move yourself further up or down in each area, if you feel it is desirable. The other chapters are very interesting if you want to know more of the background, such as how the factors are measured in the laboratory, and the conflict that existed regarding thinking that emotions were not worth studying. I did appreciate the fact that there was not a tone of "talking down" to the readers, in the attempt to make it understandable. I also did not notice a single error in the text (no typos, repeated line, or awkward grammer).

I highly recommend this book to increase your understanding of how emotions impact your life and how you can change them, even if you may find yourself skimming through the more technical areas.
