COMMUNITY REVIEWS

a great reference for artists of all ages submitted by queenbunny on July 22, 2017, 4:08pm This book has detailed breakdowns of the anatomy of different woodland animals. It breaks down the structures of the face shapes, skeletons, and unique features of each animal. Special attention is paid to eyes, ears, and feet. Because I am a giant nerd / perfectionist, I appreciate that it has multiple kinds of animals in each family - for example, not just deer, but mule dear, white tailed dear, elk and moose. At the same time, the information in this book is not so dense that it's difficult to digest. It is a good reference to get a quick understanding of an animal's anatomy, which is best supplemented by an online image search for even more details. The creator also includes a variety of poses and includes one or more motion cycles for some of the animals. There are also "how to draw" step by step for some animals which includes shading.
