COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Clever and witty intertwining of current events and pop culture as well as the usual underground Gibson fare! submitted by matthew schultz on June 7, 2008, 1:32pm Have read it once through and am going back to it, as I must with all Gibson's works. Even going back through the first 25 pages I am struck by what I glossed over. Gibson's style of writing does this to the reader (at least this reader) because he plasters together characters and scenes with so many idiosyncracies and nuances. But all around, he has once again never failed to leave you with the impression that the future is now and already, and what is to come will surely be saturated with residues of the present. This is the strata he is operating in as a sci-fi writer these days: he is peeling back the goings-on of the present and all its artifacts to reveal a world in operation that feels so distantly ahead, but in fact is right now--just out of reach of our dull Western senses.
