Confused This (Adult) Reader submitted by Meginator on August 27, 2022, 5:59pm I found this book incredibly confusing before I figured out that the verso pages were essentially audience participation questions leading to the answers on the recto pages; I thought that the entire book was describing a single animal whose identity would be revealed at the end. I did enjoy the illustrations, which have a unique visual style with a lot of different interesting textures that almost leap off of the page, but I’m not so sure that all of these animals are often particularly associated with the adjectives ascribed to them. The right animal-loving audience might get a kick out of this, but I just found it a bit perplexing.
