Awesome submitted by susanlam on July 6, 2011, 3:41pm This is a unique and interesting fantasy novel with lots to offer. The heroine, a teenaged girl named Creel, is sent to the town's dragon by her aunt, who plans to have her rescued by the local lord's son. Instead of waiting around, though, Creel decides to bargain with the dragon, who has a strange fondness for shoes. She chooses a pair that is very special to the history of her country, though she does not know it.
This book is funny, and engaging. The characters are interesting and the settings are colorful and clearly defined. I would recommend this to anyone who likes dragons.

Really Good submitted by Smiles on July 16, 2011, 1:33pm Creel's aunt sends her to the town's dragon so she can be rescued and become rich. But Creel finds out that dragons do NOT hoard gold. Instead, they hoard many other things like shoes and dogs. So to prevent the dragon from being killed, she makes a deal with him and takes one of his slippers. What she doesn't know is that the slippers are magical and she can use them to control dragons. Then, a very wicked princess named Amalia steals them and everything plunges into disaster.

a break from the traditional submitted by Bookbird on August 24, 2014, 7:51pm This is one of those nice books that take the usual fairy-tale items and make it more interesting. You get to know the characters in greater depth and there's the surprise identity of various characters/object. I would recommend this for a light read, since it's good and not that long.

good submitted by naturej1girl on July 12, 2015, 2:18pm I really enjoyed this book and the others in the series
