Great Message about Acceptance submitted by cbrewster on July 12, 2014, 4:43pm My child is very much like Morris Micklewhite and loves to wear dresses and other items that society would deem as "feminine." So I was thrilled to find another book dealing with gender identity and acceptance. It really helps him to see that he is not only and with time people learn that just because others are different, doesn't mean they are wrong.

Excellent book! submitted by clmcdl on June 20, 2015, 10:55pm Our four and a half-year-old granddaughter had me read this book to her three times in a row, as she really enjoyed the story. Excellent illustrations and message about acceptance. Book also stimulated some thoughtful discussion about not teasing those who are different from us.

Can't stop reading this submitted by shosh.lenski on August 21, 2015, 9:34am My daughter LOVES this book. We've read it a few dozen times and it's our new nighttime favorite. It has been a nice opening to talk about how it's okay for people to be different - reminds us a lot of one of our other favorites, by Todd Parr.

Good message, at least submitted by eknapp on September 6, 2016, 3:32pm I picked this up solely because of a frothing, paranoid, hateful rant I encountered by the parent of a grade-schooler who read this in class.

I don't have children and therefore not much of a framework for evaluating kids' books. But setting aside the earnest and positive subject matter--hey kids, it's OKAY to be different!--this seemed really bland to me. Still, let's call it four stars because I'm glad it exists.

Cute! submitted by Xris on August 25, 2019, 12:35pm I like that Morris is confident enough at the end to state that he's a boy that wears a dress. He's got a great imagination too. :)
