COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Ocean Floor submitted by SBNB on August 6, 2015, 10:21pm Magic School Bus is the best! I loved these books when I was a kid. This one isn’t one of my favorites in the series, but it’s still fun to read and very interesting.
Lacks an Overall Plot submitted by Meginator on August 1, 2022, 3:20pm This is a fairly straightforward Magic School Bus adventure, although it only has a mild sense of adventure to it and, unlike the best (and most memorable) books in the series, it lacks a compelling plotline to tie everything together. Ms. Frizzle and her wary (yet somehow still unsuspecting) students take a trip to the seashore that inevitably morphs into a journey beneath the waves to some of the most notable ecosystems within the world’s oceans. The illustrations do a good job of advancing the storytelling while providing humorous asides and labeling various sea-dwelling creatures, although some of the character design is inconsistent. The book does pack in a surprising amount of information about various topics, making this a great choice for young readers who are interested (or who may become interested) in any sort of marine studies.
