COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Timeless classic! submitted by Sunny29 on July 15, 2014, 10:25am I love Wrede's combination of humor, wit and well known fairy tales. These are great stories for young and old readers alike, with a solid emphasis on girl power and independence.

Follow the King of the Enchanted Forest submitted by Bookbird on August 2, 2014, 11:51am Instead of Cimorene, the story is from the point of view of Mendanbar (not Mandanbar) who discovered that wizards have been destroying parts of the Enchanted Forest. Readers don't have to wait long before Cimorene appears again. Of course she didn't change much from the first book, and is as practical as ever. I was a little bit disappointed that Kazul didn't play a very large part in this book, but it would make sense considering her position as the kidnapped this time. This book is just as good as the first book. Continue reading the series!

read often submitted by mtrax on August 6, 2014, 3:12pm Read this series often. I love a good story where the princess actually does something, and it's an interesting twist that the wizards are bad (whereas the main witch is good).

Fantastic submitted by mrajraspn08 on August 19, 2018, 2:59pm Huge fan of Jane Yolen--I can recommend her to everyone, and her novels stand the test of time. This series is a classic, and its strong female protagonist is someone everyone should know.

Delightful submitted by Princess Cimorene on July 21, 2020, 1:41am This book delighted me as a kid and continues to do so as an adult. The way Patricia C. Wrede plays with fairytale tropes is hilarious, her protagonists are strong and inspirational, and the book is just so easy to devour.

Favorite of the series submitted by laurenk5 on August 29, 2020, 11:01pm Probably my favorite of the four. The characters are great and the romance is very funny and sweet. Nice to see from the perspective of a character that is very familiar with all the shenanigans and quirks of the area, in contrast to the first book.

Love this book! submitted by Edigaet1 on August 15, 2021, 12:49pm What a sweet book! Super fun to read. It has a good amount of sassiness in it.
