COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A joyful read submitted by wampishing on June 25, 2013, 9:17am Anna Hibiscus is so very happy, she can't contain it, so she asks everyone in her family what she should do. Everything they suggest just makes her happier, though, so she must find her own way to express her happiness so she doesn't burst. The digital coloring does not have the slickness that characterizes most computer illustrations, as Tobia lays donw the pigment under thin, wobbly lines. The combined effect is loose and homey, appropriate for so joyous a book. The simple language and simple joy expressed by Anna is infectious, and Anna's vast mixed family adds an extra dimension of delight. Highly recommended.
