A 3 hankie read submitted by Laura Hoseney on April 17, 2010, 7:36am starts out slow, then POW POW POW, and keep the tissues handy! Makes you think about people and their lives and why they are who they are. Very good book. Kristin Hannah always puts out a good story.

heart-breaking submitted by kgolden65 on August 1, 2011, 7:59am This story centers around the relationship of two sisters with their emotionally disconnected mother. After the tragedy of their father's death, they slowly begin to learn the true story behind their mother. A very emotional read, but so worth the time and tears.

Emotional Journey submitted by imracom on July 5, 2012, 11:38am This is a really great and touching book.

well-written submitted by smgop on June 23, 2014, 7:54pm Moving, very touching book.

hmmm submitted by barbara kibler on July 30, 2015, 10:50pm I was going to write a bad review on this book. Maybe I am wrong but I found this book undeveloped in the story. Sometimes hard to follow. Really like Kristen Hannah...this is not one of her best.

A Fine Book submitted by kferguson on July 21, 2019, 6:20pm A fine story of family relationships.

Okay submitted by TLW1998 on July 28, 2019, 8:03pm I like quite a few of Hannah’s books, but this one is just okay.

Garden submitted by smr on July 2, 2020, 4:15pm Like winter garden

Very sweet submitted by Cihendricks on July 23, 2021, 6:40pm It wasn't quite what I expected but I loved the way that Russian history was woven into the story. I definitely learned more about what life was like inside of Russia during World War II than I'd previously known.

Okay book submitted by bjkoch on July 10, 2022, 9:03pm Her others are better

Good book! submitted by leah karr on August 11, 2022, 10:39pm I preferred Kristin Hannah's other books. I enjoyed this one and the parental relationships though
