Weak Sequel submitted by sVfGI7Glt2pz7GZgVB90 on July 13, 2020, 7:53am I loved the original The Nanny Diaries. I was really looking forward to revisiting The Nanny Diaries characters: Nan, the Harvard Hottie, and the distinctive dysfunctional Xs.

The narrative had potential: it’s set 12 years after the previous, and I was looking forward to seeing how the characters have fully developed and what new challenges they are facing. Sadly, Grayer, the little kid I acclaimed in the original, is detached and aloof. Nan has no moral fiber and is willing to stand and watch as bad things happen to good people and make a dislikable champion.

Worse, the book is so poorly written that it gets in the way of enjoying the parts of the story that could reverberate with me.
