Different in a good way submitted by sara on July 22, 2016, 10:33am As the book blurb says, this book includes elements of historical fiction, sci fi, romance, and more. I wasn't sure if I would like the book, but I did. It was different in a good way.

Disappointed submitted by kuz_a on July 16, 2018, 5:44pm While the premise of this book is super cool and appeals to the academic within me, in practice it often turned out predictable and honestly a little bit boring. The pacing of the plot would screech to a halt just for the oddly shoehorned romance bits to take over. I had high hopes but ended up feeling a bit lukewarm about the whole thing.

Very engaging submitted by hjafuller on July 31, 2019, 10:03pm This book is difficult to classify, but I enjoyed the story telling. The style most reminds me of Anne McCaffrey.

Interesting Characters, Mystery submitted by sdunav on June 29, 2020, 6:21pm This best part of this time-travel mystery/suspense/romance for me were the interesting characters - people who are passionate about history, with some flaws (some hidden pretty well, but revealed during stressful times). There were also some good plot twists. I will definitely check out further books in series.

A hard book to review submitted by ack on August 1, 2020, 7:30pm This book seems to be hit or miss for folks - unfortunately, I'm firmly in the "miss" camp. The story felt both rushed and stretched out, the characters were... there, I guess, and there was a nice sprinkling of slut-shaming. Just all around a not-enjoyable book.
