COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A little short, but still a fun read for fans of ABC's Castle submitted by cherylo on June 18, 2012, 9:46pm The premise is that this the first of a series of books whose main character, Nikki Heat, is supposedly inspired by Kate Becket with whom Castle works on the series. If you're not a fan of ABC's TV series Castle, I'm not sure why you would seek out this fictitiously-attributed novel. On the other hand, I strongly recommend the TV series. Go watch that, and come back when you are ready. I can wait. .... Fans of the series may well enjoy this extended experience of the world of the show. It was a nice piece of entertainment, and reads largely like an episode of the show, except the names are changed, and certain of the circumstances. For example, in the novels, 'Rook' and 'Heat' have a more than platonic relationship, but in the TV series, the relationship is all smoke and no fire. ;-) Solidly plotted and written, but more like a novella than a full-sized thriller novel.
