Good plot submitted by lec.dank on July 26, 2013, 9:43pm Better than expected
not for the squeamish submitted by camelsamba on June 27, 2014, 8:11pm I'm not entirely sure how to characterize this book. The plot is full of adventure, friendship, bravery, finding and/or being true to your nature -- seems appropriate for middle grade readers. The writing is wonderful and the vocabulary advanced. Nice challenge. But there are also numerous gruesome battles scenes and deaths that are fairly explicit. At times I was uncomfortable reading this to my 10yo. It wasn't just the fact of battle, per se, but the amount of detail. Of course, justice prevails and truth wins out (not really a spoiler!). It's definitely not for the squeamish.

Very violent submitted by jessicampace on August 24, 2019, 4:35pm I loved auxier's SWEEP, and thought I'd give this a try. It was not my cup of tea. Very violent and gruesome, I wouldn't read this aloud to my.kids.
