how students could take ownership of their mathematics education submitted by tropology on August 27, 2018, 2:29pm Mathematics education obscures the process of mathematical discovery by paying insufficient attention to pre-mathematical concepts which are the basis of sound mathematical foundation and the processes of mathematical inquiry. This makes math a less creative and less enjoyable endeavor and many students merely survive math education to be done with it. This book offers an important perspective and should be read by anyone who didn't necessarily enjoy math (or knew that it was presented in a way that left them uncertain of what they had achieved) and by math teachers who would like to transform their pedagogy to avoid such outcomes.
