the trouble with dinosaurs submitted by FordAlpha on August 31, 2019, 11:03pm This isn't Mercer Mayer's best work. The plot is hardly original, and the storytelling lacks sparkle. The illustrations are lively and colorful, with lots of amusing mayhem, but the hero himself doesn't show much personality. It was good for one read-aloud, but my kids didn't return to it again as they do to other Mercer Mayer books like "There's an Alligator Under My Bed."
