A Masterpiece of Historical Writing

Tuchman's record of the events that opened World War I reads like a work of fiction, but it is all too true: National leaders with no idea about the harsh results of their actions stumbled their way into a war that shattered millions of lives.
there are lessons aplenty in this 1963 Pulitzer winner for general nonfiction---not least that nations and their leaders tend to be backward looking and continually preparing to fight the last war.
Pulitzer Prize winner submitted by m steve on June 25, 2022, 3:58pm This book seems to be an authoritative study of the beginning of the War. The material, at times, can be a little dense but the author effectively makes it readable and accessible. If you want to be informed on this subject, go here.
