Twenty-four-year-old Edward Warren, has been living in Thailand for five years, a prodigal son who left his family after an irreparable fight with his father, Luke. But he gets a frantic phone call: his dad lies comatose, gravely injured in the same accident that has also injured his younger sister Cara. With her father's chances for recovery dwindling, Cara wants to wait for a miracle. But Edward wants to terminate life support and donate his father's organs. Is he motivated by altruism or revenge?

For Dads and Those Who Love Them submitted by mrajraspn08 on August 25, 2013, 9:28am This may be my favorite of Picoult's. I rarely cry, but this one had me in tears. Afterwards, I wanted to just go and give my dad a hug! A perfect read for father's day, or any other day.

Fascinating submitted by sarai koster-mockeridge on July 24, 2015, 7:35pm Jodi Picoult weaves a fascination web interlocking human relationships and wolf relationships, the commonalities and the differences, as she tells a nail biting story of one family facing a devestating decision.

my least favorite book by Picoult submitted by mickplu on June 18, 2018, 8:47pm If you're looking for a powerful and groundbreaking novel by Jodi Picoult, skip this one and pick up Small Great Things or My Sister's Keeper. Surprisingly, this book was difficult to get through despite the fact that I was interested in wolves and the other issue; the right to die with dignity. For a good 2/3 of the novel, I kept thinking "if wolves could read...they'd be bored too!"

Eh. submitted by cindygeer on June 27, 2018, 2:18pm Not the best. Her older books were better.
