A Primer for Making Perfume Using Natural Materials submitted by OlfactoryBookworm on August 4, 2019, 1:52pm Aftel sparked the natural perfumery movement when she penned this book, but fails to present a balanced perspective when it comes to synthetics (their history is important). A decade later she promotes the use of natural isolates in “natural perfumery”, so there’s been a small shift in perspective (not in this book, but as a practice as she sells perfumes and perfume materials on her website). The book is a great read, but balance what you learn with chemistry because everything, including humans, are made up of chemicals.
