"From a distance, Michael and Joleen Zarkades seem to have it all: a solid marriage, two exciting careers, and children they adore. But after twelve years together, the couple has lost their way; they are unhappy and edging toward divorce. Then the Iraq war starts. An unexpected deployment will tear their already fragile family apart, sending one of them deep into harm's way and leaving the other at home, waiting for news. When the worst happens, each must face their darkest fear and fight for the future of their family. An intimate look at the inner landscape of a disintegrating marriage and a dramatic exploration of the price of war on a single American family, HOME FRONT is a provocative and timely portrait of hope, honor, loss, forgiveness, and the elusive nature of love"-- Provided by publisher.

I liked this book! submitted by ecronin on June 18, 2012, 2:53pm I've read a lot of Kristin Hannah's books. I found this to be really enjoyable. I loved all the characters and found the story to be emotional and engagin.

Love Hannah submitted by imracom on July 5, 2012, 11:39am Kristin Hannah is an amazing storyteller and this book is no exception.

Tragic and emotional submitted by jgetty on August 2, 2021, 1:40pm I found it an upsetting, but necessary story, full of the sadness and tragedy of war. It is so unbearably sad how it tears lives and families (and relationships) apart. I found it truly heart-breaking to read. The communication deficiencies were frustrating and tragic.

Emotional submitted by leah karr on August 11, 2022, 10:42pm Hard to digest the story. It's disturbing and so sad, but also poignant and engaging.
