Haunted submitted by pamhockey25 on July 19, 2016, 9:48am This book is a fast read and an enjoyable escape. There is romance, ghosts, deceit, history, and some smoke and mirrors. The story revolves around a haunted house owned by a man who doesn't believe in ghosts, so of course he is compelled to call in a ghost hunter...who just turns out to be a beautiful woman, and therein is the romance. The ghostly part of the story is compelling, and is what is most interesting about the book. There are historical aspects, and modern-day. People turn out not to be what they seem.

Overall, I rated this a four because there were some things that just didn't ring true, and unfortunately it wasn't the ghostly part of the book, where I would suspend disbelief. The paranormal part of the book was interesting and kept me guessing, the romance was much more predictable. The characters were well-written and interesting, and considering that this is the first in a series, I will definitely read more of them. Recommended.
